Tenergy 05 vs Dignics 09C
This is the upgrade path most Butterfly loopers actually type into a search box. Tenergy 05 (2008, Spring Sponge, 36°) is the high-throw grippy reference. Dignics 09C (Spring Sponge X, 44°, stickier topsheet) is the denser, grippier two-wing sheet that replaced 05 in a lot of World Tour bags in the 2020s.

On the Combined index 09C is a touch slower, a clear step up in spin, and similar in control. Factory hardness is the honest gap: 36° vs 44°. 09C wants a stronger brush and rewards a heavier stroke; 05 is more forgiving on a late, high-throw loop.
Pick 05 if you already time it and do not want to re-learn the first ball. Pick 09C if you want more grip without going full Hurricane, and you can live with the street price. Both are inverted OFF tensors — not a Chinese vs German comparison.

Verdict
Same brand, different generation. 05 is the known Spring Sponge loop; 09C is the stickier, denser Spring Sponge X loop. Hardness and topsheet, not the logo, decide it.
