About Tenergy 09C
Butterfly Tenergy 09C is a 2018 inverted (pimples-in) sheet made in Japan. It belongs to the Tenergy series, is ITTF-approved (code 14-032), and is aimed at offensive (OFF) players who want offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin.
Tenergy 09C uses hybrid sponge that mixes tensor bounce with more Chinese-style grip and a tacky topsheet that grips the ball for spin-heavy loops. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 44° (Hybrid); a cut sheet is about 45 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. Sold with topsheet in Black and Red; sponge in red/red light. Tenergy is Butterfly's High Tension line with Spring Sponge. The numbered variants (05, 64, 80, 05 Hard, FX) change pimple geometry and sponge hardness rather than the basic recipe.
On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 88, spin 96 and control 76 (official mapping 87 / 95 / 76). That is a mid-to-high speed inverted profile for offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.
Community score 8.4 / 10 from 81 reviews. Indicative European street price €54. Compare Tenergy 09C with other Butterfly Tenergy and inverted rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for OFF inverted sheets.

Factory thicknesses
Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.

- 2.1
- MAX
- 1.8
- Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
- 1.9
- The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
- 2.0
- Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
- 2.1
- Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
- MAX
- Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
