Victas
Spectol S1
The classic Victas/TSP short pip — hit and block, still the Japanese short-pip reference in European shops.

About Spectol S1
Spectol S1 (Combined speed 88, spin 55, control 82, 35°) is a short-pips-out sheet. It does not loop like inverted. S3 is the newer step; S2 and Red are other family members.
TSP heritage lives on Spectol and Curl, not on V>15 Extra. Hexer Pips is the German short-pip alternative.
Buy S1 as a combination backhand when you already want that hitting game. Do not buy it as a “faster inverted”.

Factory thicknesses
Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. On pips and anti, thickness changes reversal and speed more than a one-point Combined gap.
- 1.8
- 1.9
- 2.0
- 2.1
- MAX
- 1.8
- Short-pips attacking sponge, or a thick anti. Not the same job as inverted 1.8.
- 1.9
- Short-pips mid-thick sponge. Blocks and hits; still not an inverted loop sheet.
- 2.0
- Thick short-pips sponge. More speed on a hit, less of the classic short-pip deadness.
- 2.1
- The thick short-pips option when the sheet is sold that way. Still a pips-out job.
- MAX
- Thickest short-pips sponge the factory lists. Catapult of a tensor, geometry of pips — not inverted MAX.
