About Tenergy 05 FX
05 FX keeps the high-throw 05 pimples and changes only the sponge. Combined speed drops, control rises, spin stays in the Tenergy band. Factory hardness is 32° versus 36° on the standard sheet.
European clubs put FX on the backhand of a Tenergy racket more often than on the forehand. The shorter BH stroke does not always bottom out 36° Spring Sponge; FX gives a safer block and a less nervous first ball.
If 05 felt fast because of pimple geometry, look at 80 or 64 instead of FX. If it felt hard, FX is the correct sibling. 05 Hard is the opposite step.

Factory thicknesses
Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.

- MAX
- 1.8
- Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
- 1.9
- The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
- 2.0
- Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
- 2.1
- Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
- MAX
- Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
