Hurricane 3 National
Factory-selected Hurricane 3, usually orange sponge — the expensive DHS forehand Europe actually means when they say “National H3”.

About Hurricane 3 National
National is selection, not a different recipe. Combined figures are faster and spinnier than commercial H3 (speed 86, spin 99). Street price is a multiple of the training sheet.
Out of the pack it is still a sticky Chinese rubber. After booster it is the heavy-spin forehand tied to Ma Long / Fan Zhendong-era setups. Provincial versions sit between commercial and National and are not always in EU shops.
Compare with Dignics 09C if you want grip without boosting. Stay on commercial H3 if you are still learning to brush. This sheet punishes a flat hit.

Factory thicknesses
Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.
- 1.8

- 2.1
- MAX
- 1.8
- Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
- 1.9
- The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
- 2.0
- Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
- 2.1
- Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
- MAX
- Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
