Clipper Wood
Stiga’s 7-ply all-wood OFF — still sold new, still a coaching default, not a vintage reissue.

About Clipper Wood
Clipper Wood is a 7-ply OFF from Eskilstuna’s long wood tradition. Combined speed 88, control 84, stiffness 72. WRB and CR variants change the inner story; this SKU is the classic Clipper Wood.
It is faster than Allround Classic and slower than Viscaria-class fibre. That is the point. Talented juniors still get put on Clipper-class woods before outer ALC.
DNA tensors are STIGA’s German-made inverted wall beside it. The blade does not require DNA; many Clippers in Europe still wear other brands’ tensors.

Handles
Handles listed for this SKU: Flared (FL), Straight (ST), Anatomic (AN). Handle shape does not change the ply recipe, weight class or Combined index.
- Flared (FL)
- Straight (ST)
- Anatomic (AN)
- Flared (FL)
- The usual European shakehand handle. The flare fills the palm and locks the blade in; it does not change the ply recipe.
- Straight (ST)
- A straight handle is easier to rotate in the hand — the usual pick for combination rackets and some two-wing loopers who change grip mid-rally.
- Anatomic (AN)
- An anatomic handle follows the palm. Same wood as FL/ST on the same SKU; pick it if that shape already fits.
