About Nexxus EL Pro Hard

Gewo Nexxus EL Pro Hard is a 2018 inverted (pimples-in) sheet made in Germany. It belongs to the Nexxus series, is ITTF-approved (code 29-021), and is aimed at offensive (OFF) players who want offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin.

Nexxus EL Pro Hard uses pre-tensioned tensor sponge with a catapult effect and relatively low dwell and a grippy, non-tacky topsheet typical of European tensors. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 50° (Tensor); a cut sheet is about 45 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. Sold with topsheet in Black and Red; sponge in cream/orange. Nexxus EL Pro is Gewo's hardness-coded tensor line (38, 43, 48, 50, 53) on a grippy topsheet.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 84, spin 87 and control 79 (official mapping 84 / 87 / 79). That is a mid-to-high speed inverted profile for offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 7.8 / 10 from 397 reviews. Indicative European street price €38. Compare Nexxus EL Pro Hard with other Gewo Nexxus and inverted rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for OFF inverted sheets.

Factory thicknesses

Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.

  • 2.1
  • MAX
1.8
Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
1.9
The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
2.0
Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
2.1
Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
MAX
Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
