About Mendo Energy

Mendo Energy uses classic (non-tensor) sponge with longer dwell and a more linear feel and a grippy, non-tacky topsheet typical of European tensors. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 40° (Classic); a cut sheet is about 44 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 82, spin 84 and control 86 (official mapping 82 / 83 / 86). That is a mid-to-high speed inverted profile for allround-offensive play that still needs a safety margin. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 8.3 / 10 from 150 reviews. Indicative European street price €24. Compare Mendo Energy with other Stiga Mendo and inverted rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for OFF− inverted sheets.

Factory thicknesses

Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.

  • MAX
1.8
Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
1.9
The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
2.0
Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
2.1
Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
MAX
Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
