About Mantra Sound S

Stiga Mantra Sound S is a 2026 inverted (pimples-in) sheet made in Sweden. It belongs to the Mantra series, is ITTF-approved (code 68-068), and is aimed at allround-plus (ALL+) players who want active allround play with an offensive bias.

Mantra Sound S uses pre-tensioned tensor sponge with a catapult effect and relatively low dwell and a grippy, non-tacky topsheet typical of European tensors. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 40° (Tensor); a cut sheet is about 45 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. Sold with topsheet in Black and Red; sponge in red. Mantra (S, M, H, Pro) is Stiga's tensor line with hardness steps rather than different pimple geometries.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 72, spin 84 and control 90 (official mapping 72 / 84 / 90). That is a control-first inverted profile for active allround play with an offensive bias. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 7.9 / 10 from 113 reviews. Indicative European street price €40. Compare Mantra Sound S with other Stiga Mantra and inverted rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for ALL+ inverted sheets.

Factory thicknesses

Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.

  • MAX
1.8
Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
1.9
The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
2.0
Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
2.1
Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
MAX
Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
