About Mantra Sound

Mantra Sound uses pre-tensioned tensor sponge with a catapult effect and relatively low dwell and a grippy, non-tacky topsheet typical of European tensors. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 37.5° (Tensor); a cut sheet is about 43 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. Mantra (S, M, H, Pro) is Stiga's tensor line with hardness steps rather than different pimple geometries.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 82, spin 84 and control 88 (official mapping 82 / 84 / 88). That is a mid-to-high speed inverted profile for allround-offensive play that still needs a safety margin. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 8.3 / 10 from 70 reviews. Indicative European street price €33. Compare Mantra Sound with other Stiga Mantra and inverted rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for OFF− inverted sheets.

Factory thicknesses

  • MAX
1.8
Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
1.9
The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
2.0
Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
2.1
Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
MAX
Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
