Hurricane 3
Commercial DHS Hurricane 3 — sticky Chinese inverted, slow out of the pack, the sheet Europe boosts for a national-team-style forehand.
9.1 community score · 3,200 reviews · €22
About Hurricane 3
Hurricane 3 is a tacky, non-tensor Chinese sponge. Combined speed 80, spin 96, control 86, hardness 39°. Those factory figures are not the boosted rubber you see on stream.
In European clubs this commercial sheet is the cheap way to learn brushing and a boosting routine before paying for National / provincial selection. Skyline 3 is the slightly milder DHS tacky sibling.
Do not compare unboosted H3 speed with Tenergy 05 and call H3 “slow, therefore worse”. After booster it is a different weapon. We do not sell booster and we do not print boosted numbers as factory specs.

Factory thicknesses
Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.

- MAX
- 1.8
- Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
- 1.9
- The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
- 2.0
- Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
- 2.1
- Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
- MAX
- Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
