About Horizontal 55

Stiga Horizontal 55 is a 2022 long-pips-out sheet for chopping, reversal and disruption made in Sweden. It belongs to the Horizontal series, is ITTF-approved (code 68-038), and is aimed at control allround (ALL−) players who want control-oriented allround and blocking.

Horizontal 55 uses classic (non-tensor) sponge with longer dwell and a more linear feel and a pips-out topsheet. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 55° (Classic); a cut sheet is about 38 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: OX, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 1.8. An OX (no-sponge) version is also listed. Sold with topsheet in Black and Red; sponge in grey.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 60, spin 50 and control 82 (official mapping 60 / 50 / 82). That is a control-first long pips profile for control-oriented allround and blocking. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 7.8 / 10 from 278 reviews. Indicative European street price €36. Compare Horizontal 55 with other Stiga Horizontal and long pips rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for ALL− long pips sheets.

Factory thicknesses

Factory options: OX, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 1.8. OX means no sponge. Combined figures describe this SKU; an OX sibling with its own product page is a different sheet.

OX
No sponge. On long pips this usually means more reversal and a deader return; on antispin it is a very dead ball. It is a different SKU from the sponged sheet when the shop lists both.
0.5
A very thin sponge under pips or anti. Slightly more speed than OX, still disruption-first.
1.0
Thin sponge under pips or anti — the German-shop step above OX.
1.5
Thicker pips/anti sponge. More speed, less pure disruption. Not an inverted MAX.
1.8
Short-pips attacking sponge, or a thick anti. Not the same job as inverted 1.8.
