About Helix Hybrid Sponge 55

Stiga Helix Hybrid Sponge 55 is a 2026 inverted (pimples-in) sheet made in Sweden. It belongs to the Hybrid series, is ITTF-approved (code 68-088), and is aimed at offensive (OFF) players who want offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin.

Helix Hybrid Sponge 55 uses hybrid sponge that mixes tensor bounce with more Chinese-style grip and a tacky topsheet that grips the ball for spin-heavy loops. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 55° (Hybrid); a cut sheet is about 45 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. Sold with topsheet in Black and Red; sponge in orange. Tibhar Hybrid K3 / K1 / FX K3 mix a more Chinese-style topsheet with tensor sponge.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 82, spin 93 and control 80 (official mapping 82 / 92 / 80). That is a mid-to-high speed inverted profile for offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 8.3 / 10 from 159 reviews. Indicative European street price €40. Compare Helix Hybrid Sponge 55 with other Stiga Hybrid and inverted rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for OFF inverted sheets.

Factory thicknesses

Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.

  • 1.8

  • MAX
1.8
Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
1.9
The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
2.0
Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
2.1
Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
MAX
Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
