About Vega Elite

Vega Elite uses pre-tensioned tensor sponge with a catapult effect and relatively low dwell and a grippy, non-tacky topsheet typical of European tensors. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 45° (Tensor); a cut sheet is about 46 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. Sold with topsheet in Black and Red; sponge in cream. Vega is Xiom's volume tensor series (Europe, Asia, Tour, Japan, Elite, Pro, China) at mid-European street prices.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 89, spin 87 and control 83 (official mapping 88 / 86 / 83). That is a mid-to-high speed inverted profile for offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 8.5 / 10 from 180 reviews. Indicative European street price €33. Compare Vega Elite with other Xiom Vega and inverted rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for OFF inverted sheets.

Factory thicknesses

Factory sponge thicknesses sold in Europe: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. These are shopping facts — Combined speed / spin / control on this page do not change with thickness.

  • MAX
1.8
Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
1.9
The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
2.0
Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
2.1
Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
MAX
Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
