About Hurricane 2

Hurricane 2 uses Chinese-style tacky build — high grip, often used with booster in Europe and a tacky topsheet that grips the ball for spin-heavy loops. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 37° (Chinese tacky); a cut sheet is about 48 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. Hurricane (H3, H8, H3-50 and provincial/national versions) is DHS's sticky Chinese inverted, usually boosted for European speed-gluing rules.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 74, spin 93 and control 88 (official mapping 73 / 92 / 88). That is a control-first inverted profile for allround-offensive play that still needs a safety margin. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 8.4 / 10 from 420 reviews. Indicative European street price €20. Compare Hurricane 2 with other DHS Hurricane and inverted rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for OFF− inverted sheets.

  • MAX
1.8
Thinner inverted sponge. Allround and first-upgrade backhands live here more often than attacking forehands.
1.9
The usual club backhand thickness on inverted tensors. A bit more control, a bit less catapult than 2.1 / MAX.
2.0
Mid-thick. Common on the backhand when MAX felt lively, or as a two-wing compromise.
2.1
Still a thick attacking sponge. A small step down from MAX on some tensors — shops treat it as the other FH thickness, not a control sheet.
MAX
Thickest factory sponge. Most catapult on a tensor; the usual attacking forehand. Combined figures on this page are for the SKU, not a separate MAX score.
