About Hellfire X

Sauer & Tröger Hellfire X is a 2013 short-pips-out sheet for hitting, blocking and fast counters made in Germany. It belongs to the Hellfire series, is ITTF-approved (code 130-009), and is aimed at offensive (OFF) players who want offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin.

Hellfire X uses classic (non-tensor) sponge with longer dwell and a more linear feel and a pips-out topsheet. Manufacturer sponge hardness is 40° (Classic); a cut sheet is about 43 g. Factory sponge thicknesses: 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, MAX. An OX (no-sponge) version is also listed. Sold with topsheet in Black and Blue and Green and Red and Violet; sponge in orange.

On the TableTennisReview 0–100 index the Combined figures are speed 90, spin 52 and control 78 (official mapping 89 / 52 / 78). That is a high-speed short pips profile for offensive close-to-table and mid-distance topspin. Hardness, weight and thickness above are factory facts — not lab tests.

Community score 8.4 / 10 from 110 reviews. Indicative European street price €34. Compare Hellfire X with other Sauer & Tröger Hellfire and short pips rubbers on the same scale, or open the catalogue filters for OFF short pips sheets.

  • MAX
1.8
Short-pips attacking sponge, or a thick anti. Not the same job as inverted 1.8.
1.9
Short-pips mid-thick sponge. Blocks and hits; still not an inverted loop sheet.
2.0
Thick short-pips sponge. More speed on a hit, less of the classic short-pip deadness.
2.1
The thick short-pips option when the sheet is sold that way. Still a pips-out job.
MAX
Thickest short-pips sponge the factory lists. Catapult of a tensor, geometry of pips — not inverted MAX.
