Butterfly
Korbel
Butterfly’s Petr Korbel 5-ply — high dwell, clear wood feel, the all-wood OFF− that still sells next to Viscaria.
9.3 community score · 1,540 reviews · €70
About Korbel
Korbel is 5-ply all-wood, Combined speed 78, control 92, stiffness 58. Butterfly’s EU shop lists it as Petr Korbel. SK7 is the 7-ply sibling, a different SKU.
Players who find Viscaria harsh often return to Korbel or step sideways to Innerforce Layer ALC. Those are two answers: more wood, or inner fibre.
It is not a starter toy. It is a current competition wood for players who want Butterfly QC without Arylate-Carbon. Pair with Sriver or a mid-tensor; Tenergy will play, just without the fibre kick.

Handles
Handles listed for this SKU: Flared (FL), Straight (ST), Anatomic (AN). Handle shape does not change the ply recipe, weight class or Combined index.
- Flared (FL)
- Straight (ST)
- Anatomic (AN)
- Flared (FL)
- The usual European shakehand handle. The flare fills the palm and locks the blade in; it does not change the ply recipe.
- Straight (ST)
- A straight handle is easier to rotate in the hand — the usual pick for combination rackets and some two-wing loopers who change grip mid-rally.
- Anatomic (AN)
- An anatomic handle follows the palm. Same wood as FL/ST on the same SKU; pick it if that shape already fits.
